Columbia stumbles on Homecoming, falling to Troy 47-12

East Greenbush, NY — It was Homecoming Friday night at Columbia High School, as the Blue Devils played host to the Flying Horses of Troy.

The opening drive ended with a 1-yard touchdown run from Troy’s Joey Ward, putting THS up early.

On their first possession, Columbia was forced to punt, giving the ball back to the explosive Troy offense.

The Flying Horses would extend their lead to 27 before the Devils could get on the board. Finally, Dylan Dubuque was able to give Columbia some hope, punching in a touchdown from the one-yard line, making it a 27-6 game after a botched 2 point conversion.

Before halftime and the homecoming festivities, Troy would add another seven, making it a 34-6 game at the break.

Columbia came out strong in the second half, as again it was Dubuque who came through for the Devils. The CHS senior set Quarterback Isaiah Peace up for the ever so mischievous QB sneak with a 54-yard dash.

The efforts of Dubuque and Peace would make it a 34-12 affair, after another failed conversion. From there it was all Troy, not looking back and downing the Devils 47 to 12.
