QUICK WRAP: Mohonasen dominates Scotia in Class A quarters

TROY — With a dominant 73-25 victory on Sunday afternoon, Mohonasen (12-10) showed why they are the #2 seed in Class A. With an explosive start it looked like they couldn’t be stopped, and they weren’t. The offense was on point and the defense was tremendous.

As 11 players scored for Mohon Junior guard Duncan Tallman led the way with 24 points on 9-13 shooting and 3-7 from 3 point range. 21 of the 24 came in the first half.

Also, the defense was a big factor in this game as no player on Scotia (9-12) scored over nine points in the game. Mohonasen had 13 steals and forced 22 turnovers, along with four blocks.

Mohonasen did slow down slightly in the second half but the deficit was just to big for the Tartans to come back from.

Mohonasen will face the #3 seed Lansingburgh (14-6) in the semifinals in Glens Falls at the Cool Insuring Arena. The game will start at 5:30 p.m.
