TROY — Police responded to a call of shots fired on Sixth Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, when they arrived, they found a man wounded in the rear passenger seat of a cab.
The man was rushed to Albany Medical Center, and at last check, he was listed in critical condition.
Police said that two men came up to the victim while he was sitting in the cab, shot him and took off. They have not yet been found.
“It looked like some conversation ensued. He was shot, and he laid down in the cab, and they fled southbound on Sixth Avenue here,” Lt. Daniel DeWolf told members of the media.
Local schools immediately went into a “lock-in,” but that has since been lifted.
