Scotia teen allegedly steals car, knocks home off foundation
SCOTIA — Village police are searching for a teen who crashed a stolen car into a Fifth Street home, knocking it off its foundation.
Scotia police chief Pete Frisoni told the Times Union that around 2 a.m. Thursday a car struck the home at 37 Fifth St.
One person inside the home was not injured, though officials are using a payloader to stabilize the home until new supports can be installed.
Police believe the car involved was stolen from a Bruce Street home after the vehicle was left unlocked, with keys inside. The suspect is described as a white, male teen with long hair.
The crash is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 518-630-0911.
