Saints get first win of the season in win over Colgate

Loudonville, NY — The Siena College Women’s Basketball team picked up their first win of the season Tuesday recording 18 steals en route to a 71-63 W over Colgate.

Jackie Benitez, who is averaging 24.7 points per game, lead the way for Siena with 23 points on the night . The sophomore guard went eight-for-ten from the free-throw line while contributing six steals.

Colgate’s Chelsey Koren kept things competitive for the Raiders, scoring a team-high 19 points, but in the end, her team was no match for their in-state rivals.

The Saints will now look to even out their record with a win in the Women’s Albany Cup on Tuesday, at 3:00 p.m. inside SEFCU Arena. Unlike the Men’s game, tickets are reasonably priced with all seats costing $7.00.
