QUICK WRAP: Shaker lacrosse edges Bethlehem in defensive battle

LATHAM — The Shaker Blue Bison took on the Bethlehem Eagles on Thursday afternoon at Shaker High School in a very tight match up. The game did not feature much scoring but ended with the Bison taking the victory by a final score of 3-2.

The Bison scored early in the first quarter with a goal by senior Luke Julien assisted by Andrew O’Connor.

Bethlehem later tied the game in the second 2-2 with two goals by PJ Namkoong. The go-ahead goal was scored by Aiden Feurer that gave Shaker a lead that they would never relinquish.

The two teams toughed it out in the rain in a physical match however the strong defense of the Bison were able to keep the Eagles to two goals. Shaker is back in action on Saturday morning, taking on Averill Park at home at 11 a.m., and Bethlehem will play again on Tuesday, facing Shenendehowa at home. Start time will be at 4:15 p.m.
