Friday’s Section II high school football scoreboard

This week’s heat forced a number of area schools to cancel or postpone athletic events. Thankfully temperatures cooled off just in time for the first week of the Section II high school football season, with 42 teams taking the field just after sundown. Below is a look at all the night’s local action. 

Schalmont- 14, Troy- 6
Schalmont delivers Troy its first loss since the 2016 season. 

Bethlehem- 15, Colonie- 13
Bethlehem coach John CarlMoino records his first program win. 

Niskayuna- 35, Schenectady- 0
Niskayuna quarterback Dan Brownell threw for four touchdown passes, three of which to receiver Richie Quinn.
