Saratoga Revolution pulled from NYCBL
The Revolution is over in Saratoga Springs.
Just months after the team was introduced, the NYCBL released a statement Sunday that the Saratoga Revolution expansion franchise has been pulled from the league for the 2017 season, just weeks after co-owner and founder Tom Coons was arrested and charged with stealing over $3,000 from the yearbook club at Maple Avenue Middle School in Saratoga Springs. The release said that keeping the team a part of the NYCBL would “compromise the integrity of the league.”
The release also states that the team will have the option to attempt to re-join the league for the 2018 season, but would have to start from scratch with a new application process.
The team’s website and Twitter page are no longer accessible and appear to have been taken down.
