Belichick on Trump: “We’ve got a big game”
At an event on the eve of his inauguration, now president Donald Trump wished Patriots owner Bob Kraft good luck in the playoffs “You’re gonna do great things.”
The 45h president went on to speak highly of Belichick and Brady – calling them “great” at their respective roles.

When asked about what he thought of the compliment during a press conference this morning, Belichick responded in his usual style. “I mean, really, just—we’ve got a big game.”
A stark change from the same coach that wrote a letter to the then presidential hopeful, which was read aloud during a Trump rally in New Hampshire.
Congratulations on a tremendous campaign. You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media and have come out beautifully. You’ve proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter. Your leadership is amazing. I have always had tremendous respect for you but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable.
Hopefully tomorrow’s election results will give the opportunity to make America great again.
Best wishes for great results tomorrow,
Bill Belichick
The Patriots will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game this Sunday, at 6:40 p.m.
Trump offered no comment on the Steelers.
