Siena’s Pellegrini named Conference performer of the week
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. — Siena Freshman Carolyn Pellegrini has been named MAAC Track Performer of the Week for her efforts at the Utica College Pioneer Invitational. This is Pellegrini’s first award and Siena’s first Division I weekly track award.
The Loudonville, New York native broke the school record in the 1000m by .01, which was set just seven days prior by fellow freshman Shannen Kerin. Pellegrini finished in 3:10.07 to set the new record. At the meet, she took first place in the 1000m and second place in the mile. She finished just behind Kerin in the mile with a time of 5:23.45.
The Saints return to action on Friday, Feb. 3 and Saturday, Feb. 4 as they travel down to the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in New York, New York for the Armory Track Invitational.
