Colonie Center FYE to say bye-bye

COLONIE — After 20-years at Colonie Center mall, f.y.e. will soon say bye-bye to its first-floor location as the company puts a heavier focus on online sales.

The store is currently in the middle of a liquidation sale to clear out merchandise before the doors lock for good in late August.

F.y.e’s parent company, Trans World Entertainment Corp. recently acquired online retailer etailz and posted a 35 percent growth in first-quarter revenues.

In addition to the Colonie store, the company also operates stores at Crossgates Mall and Via Port Rotterdam, formerly Rotterdam Square Mall. While it’s unclear what will happen to these remaining stores, the Crossgets location underwent a remodel in 2016 which brought apparel, candy, and drones to the second-floor merchant.
