Former UAlbany linebacker Abner Logan signs with the Buffalo Bills

BUFFALO — A former University at Albany linebacker has joined the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills, the University said in a statement Monday evening.

Abner Logan, who spent his fifth year of NCAA eligibility with the Great Danes in 2016, signed after participating in Buffalo’s rookie minicamp as a tryout player. And he will now compete for a starting spot on the team’s roster.

The Cambridge, Massachusetts native came to UAlbany after graduating the University of Maryland, where he appeared in 19 games and racked up 42 tackles for the Terrapins

Logan wasn’t the only linebacker to sign with the team Monday, as Georgia Tech product Anthony Harrell also received a spot on the 90-man-roster.

The Bills have not made the playoffs in 17 years and currently hold the record for the longest postseason drought in NFL history. Their last appearance was in an AFC wildcard game in 1999.
