Woman busted for stealing car in Castleton

CASTLETON —  A Schodack woman spent her Independence day behind bars after she allegedly stole a vehicle from a Seaman Avenue home in the village, Schodack Police said Saturday.

Kymberly Carroll, 23, of Schodack, was arrested for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession and Stolen Property in the Third Degree.

While town police handled the stolen vehicle complaint, OnStar was able to track the car on State Route 9J. Police recovered the vehicle as it returned to the home and identified Carroll as the driver.

Upon processing Carroll, police found several outstanding warrants. She was sent to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail and awaits a preliminary hearing.
