Union men’s hockey moves up to No.4 in National poll

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.– The Union College men’s hockey team moved up one spot to No. 4 in the latest USCHO.com poll released Monday, also receiving a first-place vote for the first time since Oct. 10, 2014. The Dutchmen remained at No. 5 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll.

Union (18-6-2, 11-2-1 ECAC Hockey) went 1-1-0 over the weekend, rolling to a 6-2 win at Clarkson before suffering a heartbreaking 4-3 loss at No. 14/14 St. Lawrence. The Dutchmen’s 18 wins on the season are tied for the most in Division I (Denver), while their .731 win percentage is tied for second (Minnesota-Duluth) behind only Penn State (.773).

Union, which currently sits two points behind St. Lawrence in the ECAC Hockey standings with two games in hand, hosts No. 16 Cornell and Colgate this weekend. Friday’s game against the Big Red is set for 8:30 p.m., while puck drop for Saturday’s game against the Raiders is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
