ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men’s lacrosse team has been ranked No. 17 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Men’s Preseason Top 20 poll, which was released Wednesday, Jan. 2, on the US Lacrosse Magazine website.
Three other teams appearing in the Nike/US Lacrosse poll will visit Tom & Mary Casey Stadium this season: No. 1 Yale (April 19), No. 3 Maryland (March 9) and No. 16 UMass (March 5).
The Great Danes also open the season at No. 10 Syracuse on Feb. 16 and face No. 4 Cornell on the road March 2.
This past December, UAlbany also was ranked in the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Face-off Yearbook Rankings, coming in at No. 15.
The Great Danes are coming off the first NCAA Championship Weekend appearance in program history. They were 16-3 in 2018, with wins over Syracuse, Maryland and Cornell as well as NCAA Tournament victories over Richmond and Denver.
