ALBANY — The Albany Great Danes men’s basketball team was named as the #8 team in this week’s mid-major top 25 from collegeinsider.com after a 4-0 start to the season.
The Danes were ranked at #18 at the beginning of the season, and are the second-highest America East squad to hit the board, with Vermont checking in at #3. In addition, they are the highest-ranked New York team, as Buffalo was placed at #23.
Albany is off to a hot start in their 2017-18 campaign, including wins over Iona, Boston University and Yale.
West Coast Conference contenders Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s are #1 and #2 in the rankings, respectively.
The Danes play again on the road on Wednesday night taking on Dartmouth, and will be back home on Wednesday, November 29, for a tilt against Colgate.
