Tuesday’s Suburban Council girls basketball rundown

There were many intriguing games last night on the girls side including the non-conference Glens Falls and Colonie game held at Colonie High School.  Despite Sophia Tougas scoring 22 points and her sister Lucille Tougas scoring 8, Colonie prevailed with a 51-44 win over the Indians thanks to good scoring performances by Alivia Paeglow (24 points), Aliyah Wright (13 points), Erin Fouracre (9 points), and Sareena Dicerbo helping off of the bench with 4 key points.  Point Guard Aliyah Wright stated, ¨this one feels good… always feels great to come out on top and we played great as a team.¨  The other games throughout the Suburban Council:

Mohonasen defeated Schenectady 55-29 and had solid performances from Saeeda Abdul-Aziz who had 14 points and Breanna Lott who contributed with 12 points of her own.

Albany narrowly beat Troy 69-64 in a hotly contested close game.  Troy only had 4 players score but both Shalie Frierson (25 points), and Sabrina Wolfe (25 points), carried their team to the very end.  But it was Albanyś great ball distribution and even scoring that helped them get the much needed W.  Imani Harris led the team with 14 points and Bridget Whelan finished with 12 points.
