Tuesday’s 518 High School Hoops rundown

It was the first “BIG Tuesday” around Section II, and that meant a boatload of games. Here are the highlights:

BOYS

Shaker- 64, Averill Park- 60

Jake Cook(Shaker) lead all scoring with 19. Despite the loss, AP had a quality outing coming close against a halfway decent team in a Class above their own.

Berlin- 64, Doane Stuart- 36

Roark Slattery put up 22 points for the Mountaineers in your average Class D slugfest.

Schenectady- 68, Bethlehem- 66

Tyrone Jenkins came up big for the Patriots, contributing 19.

Germantown- 64, Loudonville Christian- 30

Watch out; chances are we’re going to see this matchup again come Sectionals,

Lansingburgh- 70, Ravena- 62

In the loss for Ravena Sky Rebeor was a winner, scoring 27.

Scotia- 66, Schalmont- 54

Just because Schalmont is labeled as a Class B team on paper doesn’t mean the Tartans had an easy win tonight. Look for both these teams to once again be competing for Section II crowns come February.

Ichabod Crane- 56, Catholic Central- 35

It seems like just yesterday Catholic Central was competing for the Sectional title. It’s crazy to see how just a few years can turn a program upsidedown.

Fort Ann- 58, Hudson Falls- 51

Tyler Mattison(Fort Ann) lead all scoring with 24 points. The Cardinals are another team to watch for come sectionals given the openness of Class D this season.

Guilderland- 54, CBA- 52

Based on the highlights I saw on TV the atmosphere at CBA represented that of an opening round Sectional game, wishing I was there is an understatement.

Maple Hill- 51, Coxsackie-Athens- 44
