Tigers top ‘Cats 2-1, ending 5 game high

NORWICH CT – For the first time in 6 games the Tri-City ValleyCats added a L in the loss column, after falling on the road 2-1 against the Connecticut Tigers.

Ronnie Dawson delivered the lone RBI for the ValleyCats, while third baseman Marcos Almonte was the only man to cross the plate for Tri-City.

On the mound, Erasmo Pinales put forth four and one third strong innings of work allowing just 2 hits. while not letting CT put any runs on the scoreboard. Angelo Serrano would come in to pitch with one out already down in the fifth, but let the Tigers score their only two runs of the game. Serrano did not pitch after that, and was credited with the loss. Sebastian Kessay managed to contain the Tigers one run lead, as he pitched the final 3 innings.

The two teams will do battle one more time(Saturday 7:05pm), before the ValleyCats return to “The Joe” on Sunday for the start of a series with their rival, the Lowell Spinners.
