Following Kyrie Irving’s turnaround jumper which sent the Warriors back to California with a loss, a Tweet set the world on fire with a crazy idea attached to it that Russell Westbrook was somehow thanking Irving for beating his ex-teammate, Kevin Durant.
The Tweet, which featured a video of Russell Westbrook saying”thank you Jamie” was quickly mistranslated as “thank you Kyrie” by many internet folks and digital publications.
Turns out Jamie is the name of Westbrook’s trainer’s daughter:
