ROUNDUP: Clement’s 13 leads the way for Catholic Central

Thursday’s temperatures were not fit for man nor beast, but such conditions outside gave way for a fiery night of high school hoops across Section II. Here’s a look at all of the regional boys’ basketball action from December 28, 2017:

TROY — Luke Clement’s 13 points helped lead Catholic Central past Coxsackie-Athens, 53-34.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Dawson DeLisle’s 31 points led the way for Corinth in a 57-51 win over Bishop Maginn in the consolation game of the game of the Saratoga Catholic Holiday Tournament.

STILLWATER — The Indians overcame a 15-14 deficit at the end of the first quarter to take down Fonda 47-39. Scott Travis led the effort with 23 points, and Brian McNeil followed with 11 points of his own.

FORT PLAIN — Jaxson Yacowenia put in 22 points) and Jacob Hisert added 15 points to lead the Hilltoppers past Sauquoit Valley, 50-43.

CASTLETON — In the opening round of the Maple Hill Holliday Hoopfest tournament, Connor Hall led the Wildcats with 12 points to 1 51-29 victory over Hoosic Valley. Nate Mannion also contributed 8 points, and Blake Decker added 7 points.

MECHANICVILLE — Nick Billert scored 22 points to guide the Red Raiders past Mayfield, 66-41.
