ROUNDUP: A wild night in Section II Hoops

Th sources may have come to town in downtown Albany, but we still had one heavyweight of s Friday night hoops schedule. Here’s how everything shook out:

Ichabod Crane- 81, Hudson- 73

No typo here even tho Michael Alert lead all scoring with 25 points in the loss for Hudson. For the Riders, a combined effort of double-digit offensive production from the quintuple of Joe Werner(20 pts), Austin Valliere(16 pts), Brad Kittle(13 pts), Peter Volkman(12 pts) and Matt Ragosta(10 pts) pushed them over last year’s state runner-ups.

Maple Hill- 59, Cairo-Durham- 50

Hot off their first win at home on Wednesday, the Wildcats got it done once again off the services ofAustin Decker. The senior guard lead the way in scoring with 21, 12 of wich came from three-point land.

Saratoga Springs- 74, Ballston Spa- 42

Middleburgh- 56, Duanesburg- 38

An all-around team effort from the Knights helped them power past D-burg in WAC play. For the full box score CLIK HERE

Coxsackie-Athens- 56, Taconic Hills- 49

The Indians avenged Wednesday’s loss at Maple Hill thanks to a combined effort from their workhorses John Ecker(18 pts) and Tyler Oravsky(10 pts).

Green Tech- 69, Amsterdam- 55

The Eagles are showing once again that they’re going to be a contender in a competitive Class AA pool this season. Marcus Friend(Green Tech) lead all scoring with 24 points

Schoharie- 68, Berne-Knox- 50

In yet another WAC blowout, the dynamic duo of Mitchell Barton(26 pts) and Steve Alescio(24 pts) got it done for the Indians. Interestingly enough it was Slade Pulliam of Berne-Knox who lead all scoring with a gentlemen’s 27.

Northville- 56, Galway- 39

Lucas Jetty nine buckets(18 points) and 100 percent free throw percentage (3 for 3) ruled the hardwood in the Northville victory.

Bishop Gibbons- 79, Fonda- 67

Armoni Poole four triples from beyond the arc Beverly Zayir seven field buckets brought the W home to Schenectady.

 Voorheesville- 64, Cohoes- 28

This one was over before halftime when the Blackbirds up 30-13.

Hoosic Valley- 44, Cambridge- 37

There was no showboating going on in this one, as Hoosic Valley didn’t have a single player go into double digits. For the full box score CLICK HERE.
