QUICK WRAP: Hoosick Falls lacrosse upsets Maple Hill in Sectional quarterfinals

SCHODACK — The Hoosick Falls varsity lacrosse team picked up their first Sectional quarterfinal win in school history Monday, upsetting the No.4 seeded Maple Hill Wildcats in overtime, 9-8.

Hoosick senior Guy Milliman scored the winning goal 185 seconds into the four-minute sudden death overtime period.

“Coach said we had to spread it out and fight back,” said Milliman. “They came back, but I think we banned together pretty well.”

The Panthers advance to play at No.1 Greenwich in the Class C semifinals on Thursday, at 7:00 p.m.

With the loss, Maple Hill closes the door on its best season in program history. This season the Wildcats won 11 games and achieved finished with a winning record for the first time.

“Our seniors have done a great job all season,” said Maple Hill coachKyle Randall. “Overtime is a tuff way to go out.”
