Tri-City ValleyCats

Opening Night For The ValleyCats

Yup, the wait is finally over. The Tri-City ValleyCats open up their 2016 regular season against the Connecticut Tigers tonight at 7:00 PM at “The Joe.” As a short season team, Tri-City only plays 76 regular season games. Half of those at their home in Troy. But the Single-A Astros affiliate has had some impressive recent success. Making the postseason five out of the past six seasons. Not bad considering they have a new lineup every year.

And as they open up their 15th season here in the 518, the Cats’ surely are not taking that success for granted. Tri-City will be wearing special 15th season uniforms on Friday night. Every division title year, along with the two recent New York-Penn League Championships, will be displayed on the back side. A nice tribute to former ValleyCats players and fans who have been around since season one.
