GUILDERLAND — One person was killed in an afternoon house fire on Church Road Tuesday, fire officials said.
Westmere Fire Chief Henry Smith said that a victim was pulled from the home, located at 490 Church Road, shortly after firefighters arrived but died from injuries.
Officials did not release the victim’s identity but a neighbor told the Times Union that a man of about 90 years lives in the home.
As of 2:44 p.m. Church Road remained closed as firefighters continued to battle the fire.
