Not so lucky Irish defender gets leg snapped by Welsh counterpart

Not this again, another European soccer player was carted off the pitch Friday, following a one-sided tussle amongst two countrymen.

Ireland’s Seamus Coleman came out on the losing end of a red-card inducing incident with Welsh defender Neil Taylor, snapping his leg in the second half of the game, which was a World Cup qualifier.

As a result of the card, the Irish played with a one-man advantage for the remainder of the match, but despite proximity to Saint Patrick’s Day, they couldn’t muster any luck to score. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Coleman, who is the starting right-back for Everton, of the Premier League, will likely miss the club’s Merseyside derby against Liverpool next week.
