No commencement, no problem for UAlbany men’s lacrosse

While readying for Sunday’s NCAA tournament game in Delaware, seniors on the University at Albany men’s lacrosse team missed their commencement ceremony on Saturday. but the Great Danes made the best of their situation – holding an informal graduation of their own.

The Danes, who will play Maryland on Sunday for a spot in the Final Four, saved their senior class the boredom of sitting through lengthy graduation speeches and the never ending name list. Instead, they opted for a simple gathering with cake.

Brendan Chetuck, Jake Cullen, Bennett Drake, John Glancy, Eli Lasda, Adam Osika, Connor Russell and Ky Tarbell were honored along with students manager Alex Wallach.

Sunday’s game will faceoff at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
