Mookie continues to mash, Sox steal one from Orioles

Mookie Betts MVP campaign continued last night as he hit another 2 home runs at Camden Yards. Betts first homer came in the 5th inning of a scoreless game, it would give the Sox a 3 run lead. Eduardo Rodriguez in his limited work was fantastic, throwing a no hitter for 4.2 innings before leaving the game due to left hamstring tightness. Rodriguez was in the midst of by far his best outing of the season, striking out 7 in only 4.2 innings. Matt Barnes would come in and in his second inning of work would give up a hit and a walk allowing 2 runs. Fernando Abad would come in and give up a game tying single to Hyun Soo-Kim. Then in the 8th inning Betts would hit a 2 run homer to give the Red Sox the lead, Craig Kimbrel would then come on and shut the door for his 21st save of the year. Tonight’s starters are Dylan Bundy |BAL|(6-3 2.93ERA) vs David Price |BOS|(10-8 4.29ERA).

THINGS TO WATCH FOR; Red Sox Outfielder Mookie Betts again was called on to come up big for the Sox and would have another multi home run game at Camden Yards. Betts has gone 11 for 29 with 5 homers and 15 RBIs in his last 7 games. He will remain in the cleanup spot for tonight’s game.

Red Sox Starter David Price will look to pick up another quality start for the Sox. In the many times he has done so he has been backed with little run support from the best offense in the league.

The Red Sox only have 16 remaining home games after this road trip in one of the more hectic travel ridden schedules in all of baseball. They have won five straight and go for a sixth tonight.

Red Sox Second Baseman Dustin Pedroia in his 7 games has gone 14 for 32 with 4 RBIs and 6 runs. He looks to stay hot in the lead off spot.

Baltimore Orioles Starter Dylan Bundy will make his 7th start with the team. In his limited time he has impressed in giving the Orioles quality innings of work. His last start was against Texas and he went 7 innings giving up 1 hit and no runs. He took Chris Tillmans spot in the rotation after Tillman had been dealing with shoulder discomfort.
