NEW YORK — Joe Girardi decided to sit four starters tonight against the San Francisco Giants in the series opener. The list of players that are not playing are Ellsbury, McCann, Didi, and Teixeira. This is a frustrating decision for most Yankee fans, I think, because they want to win! Especially the call to sit Didi againsts a left hand pitcher, where he has a .377 average against. Although Tex is batting a low .185 with 8 home runs and he really has been struggling along with McCann. Ellsbury went 1-4 yesterday and it is surprising as well to not see him playing. This is a huge series against a top team, plus an ace pitcher tonight. If the Yankees could take 2 of 3 that would be huge! I don’t understand why they made this decision, maybe the Bronx Bombers can pull it off tonight. If the Yanks can win tonight, they would be 2 games above .500, again. The trade deadline is approaching quickly now and there has to be decisions made soon. Is trading away Beltran and Chapman the perfect move for the Yankees? We’ll find out.
