Joe Bruno Stadium to host 2017 New York-Penn League All-Star Game

TROY, NY – The Tri-City ValleyCats received BIG news during Tuesday’s New York-Penn League All-Star Game at Dutchess Stadium in Wappingers Falls. It was announced that the ‘Cats would host the 2017 NYPL All-Star game at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy, NY. The last time the ValleyCats hosted the event was in 2008, drawing nearly 6,000 fans to the Collar City.

Although no specific date has been set for the 2 day affair, it is expected to take place in mid August of next year.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring the New York-Penn League All-Star Game back to the Capital Region,” said ValleyCats General Manager Matt Callahan. “Our organization is looking forward to showcasing the best professional baseball talent across the league, while also providing a top-notch fun-filled experience for our fans.”

Next year’s event will feature a Fan Fest, autograph session and of course the BIG game, all while bringing the 14 teams together.

“The New York-Penn League is excited about returning to New York’s Capital Region for our 2017 All-Star Game,” said league President Ben J. Hayes. “When the ValleyCats hosted the game back in 2008, it was a tremendous success. I know their staff will go out of their way to ensure another first-class event in 2017.”
