Coming fresh off their third consecutive trip to the NBA finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ off season and current status has been nothing less than a dumpster fire and Kyrie Irving is really not making it any easier for anyone.

Ever since Kyrie Irving reportedly told the Cavaliers front office that he is sick and tired of being second to LeBron James and demanded a trade, chaos, and drama has filled the organization. He wants to be the main star on a team and wants to be the man which frankly is selfish of him because who would not want to play alongside the best basketball player in the NBA for the past fifteen seasons? LeBron James has done nothing except make Kyrie Irving a better player and helped him win an NBA championship.

The Cavaliers are in a bad spot right now and need some reassurance and they desperately need to make a splash for a big deal on some quality players soon.

However, if the Cavaliers really want to move on from Irving and make a splash that way there is only one team in the entire league that they should be dealing with and that is the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves have exactly what the Cavaliers need to at least stop the bleeding of this off season and slowly build for the future in case LeBron James does end up leaving for the second time next summer after his contract expires.

The trade would be very simple and easy and it would be a fair one where both teams would benefit. The Cavaliers would give up Kyrie Irving and have the Timberwolves pick up his remaining three years of his current contract for Andrew Wiggins and point guard Jeff Teague.

This would bring back Andrew Wiggins three years after the Cavaliers dealt their former number one overall pick for Kevin Love in 2014 which ultimately helped them win a championship and also a point guard in Jeff Teague to replace Kyrie Irving as the starting point guard for this team.

However, since Jeff Teague was just signed by the Timberwolves this off season and is not eligible to be traded until December 15 because he was an off season signing. This means that the Cavaliers will have to bring Kyrie Irving into training camp and tell him to just suck it up and play hard and help them win for the first two months of the season until they can trade him in December to a team where there is a lot of upside and could possibly make the playoffs for the first time since the 2003/2004 season.

Along with Teague, the package must include Andrew Wiggins. This might be hard for the Timberwolves to give up because Wiggins has grown over the years and matured well into a franchise player where a team could build around him and that is exactly why the Cavaliers need him. The Cavaliers must think about their future and Andrew Wiggins would be the building block of a team that needs to get younger.

He has shown that he can score the basketball and over the past three years his defensive abilities and being able to guard multiple positions is nothing short of remarkable and has shown much improvement. He is a piece of what the Cavaliers are missing and he along could help stop the roller coaster ride that is occurring right now inside the Cavaliers organization.

This trade allows the Cavaliers to start a former all-star point guard in Jeff Teague (because starting Derrick Rose is not the best option even though he will probably play better along side LeBron James) who gave the Pacers 15.3 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game and 7.8 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range last season. That is just enough at the point guard position for the Cavaliers at this moment in order to remain the favorites in the Eastern Conference without throwing Derrick Rose out there while hoping and praying he stays healthy.

Along side Teague, the Cavaliers will have Andrew Wiggins like stated before has drastically improved his skills over the past few years. He fills the void of a young star player in the making that the Cavaliers could build upon if LeBron James does end up leaving next summer and it also helps because the majority of the Cavaliers players are over the age of 30 and their bench was atrocious last year and it showed during the finals.

He is long and nimble but also has improved his three-point shot and recently shot the long ball at 35 percent last year which is pretty decent for a small forward. He simply gives the Cavaliers versatility and will only get even better next season while playing with LeBron James.

This trade allows the Cavaliers to be set down the road for at least a couple of more years and with starting lineup of Jeff Teague, Andrew Wiggins, LeBron James, Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson while having Derrick Rose, JR Smith, Kyle Korver and company sitting on the bench, it could possibly be a slightly better Cavaliers team from last year and definitely would be very fun to watch.
