Hudson Falls woman arrested after child found wandering

HUDSON FALLS – A Hudson Falls mother faces charges after her 2-year-0old child was found wandering outside without supervision on Monday.

Police said they received a report of a child wandering near Deer Run Drive at around 10:30 a.m.

The mother, 21-year-old Victoria Lapan was found sleeping in a nearby apartment. Police say Lapan was unaware that the child left the apartment.

Lapan was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was issued an appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date.

Police told WTEN the child is staying with other family members while Washington County Child Protective Services investigates the incident.
