The Troy Record reported Friday that the girlfriend of a Troy women murdered in 2015, committed suicide in her city home last month.
Sara Moore, 25, was the girlfriend of Noel Alkaramla, 21, whose body was found inside a suitcase near the USS Slater in the Hudson River in December 2015. She was allegedly murdered by her ex-stepfather, Johnny Oquendo, 39.
Oquendo’s trial is scheduled to begin Spet. 18 in Rensselaer County Court. Where he will face charges of second-degree murder, criminal obstruction of breathing and unlawful concealment of a human corpse.
Troy police spokesman Capt. Daniel DeWolf told the Record that Moore’s death was not considered suspicious and the cause was listed as a suicide after an autopsy.
An obituary on the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home’s website stated that Moore was born in Troy. She is survived by her father, stepmother, three sisters and daughter.
A private funeral service was held at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home.
