Four to represent 518 in Super Bowl

When Super Bowl LI kicks off at 6:30 p.m. next Sunday night they’ll be four participants with capital region ties slinging it out for the game’s crown Joel, the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

No matter who’s seen dancing around on stage circa 9:30 p.m., it will be a winning night for the 518 as they’ll be an even split of representatives on both teams. Alban High/Academy product Dion Lewis along with RPI player and grad Matt Patricia (the New England coordinator with the majestic beard) will represent the Patriots, who are favorites to win. While CBA/Averill Park grad Joe Vellano and Josh Keyes (the pride of Chatham and all of Columbia County) will carry the Capital Region torch for the Atlanta Falcons.

For more on all four check out this truly well-done piece from Pete Dougherty of the Times Union, aka the best paper north of the city.
