Doug Gottlieb is on his way to Fox, but he might end up at Oklahoma State

Seasoned sports media hound Doug Gottlieb is on the move again, this time making the jump to Rupert Murdoch-owned Fox after a five-year run with CBS Sports, CBS Sports Radio, and CBS Sports Network. But soon he could be on the other side of the mic, answering the questions and not asking them.

Gottlieb, 41, teased his move Monday, stating that he had a new employer but the Oklahoma State grad wouldn’t spill the beans as to where he was heading. That all changed Wednesday when the Southern California native went on Colin Cowherd’s “The Herd,” a Fox Sports radio show, to make the big announcement.

“I couldn’t be happier to join FOX Sports Radio and FS1,” said Gottlieb. “This is an exciting next step in the evolution of The Doug Gottlieb Show. FOX Sports has created a multi-platform, innovative, high-quality sports entertainment destination, and I’m looking forward to joining their industry-leading lineup.”

But that’s not all, reports are circulating left and right that Gottlieb could take the open coaching position at his alma mater. He will interview for the job on Thursday.

This isn’t the first time the former college basketball player has been rumored as a candidate for the OSU job. Last year he was mentioned as a possible candidate, but ultimately never got the gig.

Regardless of what happens next, Gottlieb’s last CBS Show is scheduled for Apr. 14. Ten days later “The Doug Gottlieb Show” will make its premier on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart radio app. The show will run from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. central, though individual station availability may vary.

Still, he’s pushing for the OSU gig. (Pay extra close attention to his dog in the background)

If he gets the job, Gottlieb will join his brother Gregg in the coaching business, who is an assistant at Oregon.
