There were no tricks for the Dodgers and their fans on Halloween night, only treats. For the second straight year the fall classic will feature a game seven after the Dodgers took game six on Tuesday night with their 3-1 win over the Astros.

The Astros drew first blood in the third inning. George Springer hit a solo home run to right center field off of Dodgers starter Rich Hill to put the Astros ahead 1-0.

The Astros would then threaten for more runs in the top of the fifth inning. Hill allowed a leadoff single to Brain McCann which was followed by a double to Marwin Gonzalez to put runners on second and third with no outs. After Hill struck out back-to-back hitters he intentionally walked Springer before manager Dave Roberts pulled him with two outs and the bases loaded. Reliever Brandon Marrow induced a ground out on his second pitch to escape the jam.

Hill finished his night pitching 4 2/3 innings while allowing one earned run on four hits as he struck out five and walked only one.

Astros starter Justin Verlander was rolling through the first five innings of the game, allowing just one hit up until that point. However, the Dodgers found life in the sixth inning.

After Austin Barnes singled to left field to start the inning, Verlander plunked Chase Utley on his foot on a 2-2 count to put runners on first and second with no outs. The next batter Chris Taylor doubled to right field on a 1-2 count to tie the game at one.

Corey Seager came up next and hit a towering fly ball to the wall in right field that came up just short of a three run home run. However, it was more than enough for Utley to tag up off of third base and score to put the Dodgers ahead 2-1.

Verlander eventually escaped the sixth inning after surrendering the lead, however, his night would be finished. He pitched six innings allowing two runs on three hits while striking out nine and walking none.

Then in the seventh inning Joc Pederson extended the Dodgers lead. The 25-year-old hit a two strike home run to left field off of Joe Musgrove to make the score 3-1.

Kenley Jansen came into the game in the eighth inning to record a six out save. Jansen retired all six batters he faced to finish game six and preserve the Dodgers 3-1 victory.

The Dodgers bullpen came up big Tuesday night as they combined to throw 4 1/3 innings allowing no runs on two hits while striking out four and walking one.

With the World Series title on the line the Dodgers will look to mid-season pickup Yu Darvish to lead them to victory as the Astros will look to Lance McCullers Jr. to help bring them their first title in franchise history. Game seven will be played on Wednesday night in Los Angeles with first pitch set for 8:20 p.m. and can be seen on FOX.
