COPS: Colonie High School student struck by fellow student

COLONIE — A Colonie High School student was struck by another student in the school’s parking lot on Thursday, according to town police.

A 16-year-old female student was hit while walking in the school’s “triangle” area at 1:50 p.m.

Police said she was knocked to the pavement and possibly run over by the vehicle of a 16-year-old male student who then crashed into a parked vehicle occupied by a parent picking up another student.

The female student was transported to Albany Medical Center with “numerous” but non-life-threatening injuries.

The student driver stopped after the accident.

Police said that Drugs and alcohol have been ruled out, but noted that the investigation is ongoing.

A post on the Colonie Central School District’s website said that councilors would be made available for students on Friday.
