Colonie beats Green Tech in thriller, advances to semifinals

TROY, NY– Colonie escaped a close one at Hudson Valley over 9 seeded Green Tech thanks to some clutch late free throws by Isaiah Moll.

Brendan Mulson’s 23 points and Isaiah Moll’s paced theRaiders to a 64-62 win, while Marcus Friend led Green Tech with 19 points. The charter school had two other players finish in double figures.

“Our mindset is going in for the last 12 days, we knew that any of the eight teams in the quarterfinals could win it,” Colonie head coach Ken Dagostino told Sam Blum of the Troy Record. “We can’t let happen what happened earlier with Shen and Saratoga, the higher seeds.”

The top-seeded raiders advance to play Schenectady in the Class AA semifinals on Tuesday, — 8:00 p.m. The contest will be played at the historic Glens Falls Civic Center.
