Car Spontaneously Explodes During NASCAR XFINITY Race

NASCAR XFINITY series driver Derrick Cope saw his day cut short early in Saturday’s Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International, thanks to the most random of events.

With only 23 laps to go Cope’s car spontaneously exploded on the track, causing the caution flag to wave.

Thankfully Cope was not injured in the accident, and the race was able to resume under green flag conditions just a short time after the incident.
